Benninghoff to Honor Local Veteran in Bridge Renaming

WHAT:    The Branch Road bridge which crosses Branch Creek in Lemont, Centre County, will officially be renamed the Private John W. Coble Memorial Bridge. The dedication is the result of legislation authored by state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin).

Private Coble served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and later employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, for whom he was employed when he lost his life on the job in 1972.  

WHO:     The ceremony will also include state Rep. Paul Takac (D-Centre), in whose district the bridge now lies.

WHEN:    **TODAY at 11 a.m.**

WHERE:    Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, State College.
